Quick update...

There hasn't been a whole lot going around the York place which is why I haven't posted a new blog for awhile...but I figured a quick update wouldn't hurt...

Job hunt:
The job hunt just sort of took a small turn for the worst. There were two jobs that were really promising...one of which would pay much more then I had been paid as a youth pastor (as hard as that might seem to believe since youth pastors are paid sooooooooo much.) Unfortunately, I do not have the sales experience that they are looking for. I still have a shot at the job but they also decided that it will not post for awhile - possibly a month and a half.
There is also an assistant position to the one above which pays incredibly well also ($25-$30/hr) which I am applying for. Please pray that God would open the door for that job. It would be awesome if that worked out...I'd be working with great people and making enough that Jamie and I would be fine when she takes maternity leave. I am hopeful that this position would work out but I'm not a shoe in.
Also - the Wells Fargo job does not pay near what I thought it did. I had read that they start people out at $13 an hour which isn't as much as I'd like to make but being without a degree still, I'd take it. Well, I found out today that they only pay $9.50 an hour plus "some commission." How is a person supposed to live off of that???
So...I'm back online, searching for jobs...I even applied for a 10pm to 6am part-time server position....it would be something to help while I'm looking for a better job.

House: Jamie and I are going to put our house up for sale next month (I hope). If and when it sells, we'll move back into an apartment. Something a bit more affordable for the time being. We're going to try and sell it ourselves which should save us $2500-$5000. We'll see...I want to do some work on the house first...we have some sheet rock work that needs to be done, we might re-do the kitchen (tile the floor, paint the cabinets), re-do the master bathroom completely, and spice up the front yard.

Josiah: Last night Josiah kept moving to one side of Jamie's stomach...you could easily tell where he was. It was cool...and kinda weird looking.

Anywho - for those of you who actually read this, please be praying that I find a good paying job soon and a buyer for our house...and leave a reply to this post so I can actually see that someone reads this stuff! :)

  3. Hey guys
I just said a prayer for you and I'm really hoping God turns some serious corners in your lives, but I'm also happy to hear that you are hopeful and of course excited about the baby. Jamie I hope I can meet you someday!
