Well folks...the time has arrived. The baby is coming...freedom is going...and Jamie and I are about to begin a whole new era together...
Today we went up to Saint Vincent's hospital to have a 3D ultrasound done. They've been concerned because Jamie has had some extra fluid and they also recently told us that it appears the head is further developed (and larger) then expected. So we went in, had an ultrasound (2D only), talked to a doctor and here's the scoop...
Josiah's head is indeed larger then it should be at this point (save the large noggin' jokes for now)...actually larger than 98% of baby's his gestational age. The doctors are concerned about this but as of yet cannot figure out why. It may be nothing or it may be something...having to wait to find out is a bit brutal. We wouldn't be too concerned if his head was just slightly larger but it's actually already developed like they would expect it to be at 40 week - not at 35 weeks which is where Jamie is. The issue that this causes now is that his head will be too big for a natural delivery....soooooooo....Josiah Robert York will be coming into this world by C section on April 20th...yes, that's 4/20....for those of you who are not aware, it's national marijuana day. How awesome is that?! :) Just kidding. :)...Pastor's kid born on 4/20...hopefully it's not a sign for things to come!!!
We are excited though...despite the big head thing. Please be praying for us as the day approaches. After Josiah is born they'll run some tests and we should finally have answers. The C section will be at 8:30am at St. Vincent's in Beaverton.
Hope you all are as excited as we are!!!
That is also Hitlers birthday.
ReplyDeleteNo worries on the big head man, I was born with a big head...so much so I had to have CT scans as a baby to make sure all was ok...I just had a big head.
Congrat's guys, your going to love parenthood!
