Since some have been asking, I figured I'd post an update on my job situation.
Last week I was hired at a home for boys here in the Portland area. They are kids with troubled pasts usually involving having been physically and sexually abused and physically and sexually abusing others. Most, if not all of these guys have been in trouble with the law and have anger issues...in fact, I'll be working with the "aggressive/assaultive" guys....should be interesting.
Yesterday I worked from 12pm-6pm which gave me the opportunity to meet the staff and some of the "clients" as they call them. There are only 5 kids there at the moment (one is on suicide watch at the hospital). They're basically good guys but they get upset easily, don't calm down very quickly, and tend to punch things (including other kids). :)
Jamie and are are excited that I have a job but the new challenge is that my hours are Tuesday - Friday, 11pm to 9am...yes thats, 11pm to 9am...overnight. It is hardly ideal but it is what it is. Please be praying for Jamie and me during this time...it will be difficult.
In addition to the new job, tonight I'm starting a Thursday night class in addition to my regular Monday night classes....so for the next five weeks, I'll be doubled up on classes and we'll be adjusting to my new work schedule. It's a bit overwhelming.

wow, that will be tough. my husband had to get a job quickly as well and he works every saturday and sunday and it's not fun. i can understand having an odd schedule at least. i will pray you guys have grace to make it through this season!
